Day 26: Your week, in great detail.
In all honesty, my weeks aren't very exciting. Let me break down my past week for you - and I think you'll certainly agree.
Tuesday: I worked a mid shift today (in an attempt to give my team a little break). That being said, I allowed myself to sleep in a little bit before work (just a little bit). The work day wasn't terribly exciting - a large balance of sale merchandise arrived rich I got out onto the floor, and I sold virtually nothing. I wish I could tell you more, but I truly don't recall what was done a week ago.
Wednesday: I closed at work (again, to help the team out). Closing allowed me to sleep in, which is always nice. My typical mornings consist of waking up, watching a little of the Today Show, enjoying some coffee and a breakfast of sorts. Closing at work, I went to lunch (or dinner as most people would say) with one of my former employees who just got promoted out to Florida. Closing shifts have been pretty uneventful, and there really isn't more to say about it.
Thursday: Closed yet again (I promise, this isn't a typical shift I work), and the vast majority of our sale shipments arrived (read: 6 trunks or about 12 rolling racks or merch) had to be steamed, sorted, and put out on the floor. Lunch consisted of cheese and crackers plus water... let's just say it was a working lunch. Needless to say that took up the entirety of my night.
Friday: I had the day off, and for some reason I can't even recall what I did. I do remember opting out of using my cane (it was really just becoming a pest), and going to dinner with the boy at Re:Public, my newest favorite bar/restaurant. While there, our good friend Austin joined us for a couple beers. It was a fun evening.
Saturday: I closed again (i was not paying attention when writing my schedule). This couldn't have been a more uneventful day at work. I didn't sell a thing, and I feel like I was a complete waste of space. Complete waste. Today was eventful in the sense that it was the first day I chose to not use my cane at work.
Sunday: Sunday, sunday, sunday. I chose to work today (being the 4th = double time), and managed to get quite a bit done. I did some floor moves, and got caught up on all of my emails. Work was yet again quieter than ever, so I opted to leave early to get prepared for the 4th festivities. Sad thing about the 4th, it had rained for the majority of the day so we had to get a little creative. The party started at our apartment, and when the rain finally let up we made our way up to the roof (bundled up, of course), and chowed down on bbq, buca di beppo (erm), and beer. The fireworks weren't too shabby, though the clouds somewhat got in the way. All in all, we all made the best of the 4th... but it was certainly the coldest, wettest 4th I've ever experienced.
Monday: Trying to open at work was a nightmare. I was slightly hungover, and this Monday happened to be an observed holiday (read: all coffee shops were closed)... by the time I tracked down a Starbucks to get a coffee and breakfast sandwich (I needed grease), I discovered the oven was broken... so no grease for me. Work was slightly hectic, since we're getting into the busiest time of the year, but I managed to keep myself busy to let the time fly by. I had a lovely lunch date surprise from the boy, and post work we had a peaceful evening together. I had ordered us some takeout, we ran a few errands, and ended our evening with a quick stop at Red Mango before getting settled in to a night of lounging.
Tuesday: See my post of my day in detail (Day 25).
In my opinion, that might have been too much detail... for what was a somewhat boring week... wouldn't you think?
